Dedicated to the memory of Sam Thomas and his support for the Homeless.
In January 2025 Sam established a business that was to be Sam’s venture into entrepreneurship later in 2025. His business plan was unique; he was going to take his experience in technical recruitment and launch his own agency.
He named it URFUTR (Your Future).
He agreed a partnership with Porchlight so when he launched, he would donate 5% of all income to Porchlight his local Kent based homeless charity. The concept being that for every deal he secured he gave two people a future.
The candidate he placed got a new career future and a donation to Porchlight that would secure a safe place for a homeless person to live for a month leading to them hopefully also having a new future.
He met with the Homeless Charity “Porchlight” on the 10th of March 2025 and agreed a sponsorship agreement in preparation for him to start trading late summer 2025.
Tragically just 9 weeks later he passed away before he managed to get started with his new venture building his dream business but also making such a positive impact on those less fortunate than himself.

Jacqui’s Story
When Jacqui met Porchlight's street team, she’d been sleeping rough for 18 months and was living in fear. We helped her find somewhere to live and gave her the emotional support she needed to begin trusting people again.
She has slowly been able to rebuild her life, as this recent interview shows. Sadly though, funding for Kent’s homelessness services is being cut. Porchlight’s hostels are at risk of closure. We’re doing all we can to keep vital safety nets in place, but we can’t do it without you.
